Business Internet Connections
Most businesses use Email as a key mode of communication. It is therefore critical that your business’ Internet connection is reliable and fast. MBM provides a range of superb, business-quality broadband and Internet connection feeds, so whether you’re a home worker or a large organisation, we have the right Internet connectivity service for you.
The majority of SMEs connect to the Internet using ADSL. The service is generally provided over a BT telephone line and has download speeds of up to 16Mbit/s. Such services are cost-effective, reliable and fast enough for most organisations.
However, here’s what makes the MBM broadband service better than most:
- Our broadband is delivered from three different providers allowing us to offer the very best service in your area
- We have a range of appropriate services such as low-cost services for SOHO sites to super-fast ultra-reliable services for head offices
- You call MBM direct for any help (you do not ring an overseas call centre)
- We provide voice-grade services for top-quality telephone calls over the Internet (VoIP)
- We don’t tie you into long-term contracts, you can stay with us for as long as you like!
Some organisations require a faster connection than is available from ADSL. This is particularly true for businesses that need to send a lot of data because they run a web site in-house, or they have lots of employees working from home using a virtual private network (VPN), or they are undertaking lots of off-site data backup/replication.
ADSL services have relatively slow upload speeds. Ethernet in the First Mile (EFM) services replace the ADSL connection with an Ethernet connection (like the one used on your network itself) to provide services of up to 100Mbit/s in both directions. EFM services are symmetric whilst ADSL services are asymmetric.
Although MBM continue to offer excellent leased-line connections, EFM connections are the future. They are fast, reliable and very cost-effective when compared to leased-lines. Increasing your upload speed by 25 times could make an enormous difference to how your business operates.
Optical fibre broadband is coming but it will be a long time before everyone can benefit from this new technology. We recommend that you examine your Internet connection requirements and choose a service and supplier that best matches your needs. MBM has a wide variety of services and skilled technicians to supply and support them.
